Mazda CX-3 might be the smallest crossover in the Mazda lineup, but its new redesign is about to make a big splash. Earlier this year during the New York International Auto Show, Mazda unveiled the Mazda CX-3 redesign and it’s a lot edgier and more refined than it was previously.
On the outside, the CX-3 looks more elegant than before with a few subtle differences. A new grille and chrome accents give the crossover a premium feel, while the Piano black accents, cylindrical taillight design and the 18-inch wheels with a multi-faceted spoke design give it an edgy look.
The inside has seen even more drastic changes, including a new design for the center console, wider front seats, available leather seating, and a new rear-seat center armrest with cupholders. Mazda’s also made the cabin quieter with thicker door panels, rear-door glass, and headliner.
Along with these changes, the powertrain and suspension has also seen a bit of a revamp. The SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine has been tweaked slightly to offer better fuel-efficiency and more torque, bumping its numbers to 148 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Low-profile tires will help reduce braking distances, while the suspension and the power steering has undergone a fine tuning.
