Mazda is shaking things up in its SUV and crossover lineup this year, introducing a brand-new model: the Mazda CX-30. The Mazda CX-30 debuted earlier this year at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. It highlighted the compact crossover’s roomy interior, sporty styling, and abundance of cargo capacity.
As of now, the CX-30’s United States engine specs haven’t been revealed. The European model, though, will come with two engine options. The first is a 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline-powered option that utilizes a mild hybrid technology to get solid efficiency ratings. A 1.8-liter diesel will also be available, paired to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. This model will offer an available all-wheel-drive system.
Mazda designed the CX-30 with versatility and space in mind for busy families. It is taller and more spacious than the CX-3, filling the gap between the CX-3 and CX-5. Along with offering 15.2 cubic feet of rear cargo space, the crossover will boast a sporty design, highlighted by sweeping bodylines and a sloping rear window that is similar to a coupe.

Mazda unveiled the all-new 2020 CX-30 compact crossover at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The New CX-30 slots between the CX-3 and CX-5 and makes one thing certain: Mazda doesn’t intend to slow down any time soon. Featuring signature clean styling, an inspiring driving experience, and refined and well-equipped interior, the 2020 CX-30 is destined to be a popular new compact crossover.
As one would expect from the brand, the Mazda CX-30 design captures a sense of dynamic motion and confidence with flowing body lines and a clean, minimalist profile. A wide front grille and a low, solid stance add dramatic touches, while sleek headlamps and sloping roof will garner plenty of envious glances on the road.
Under the Hood
While we will have to wait for some specifics, we do know that the new CX-30 will come equipped with a potent 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with available all-wheel drive. A mild-hybrid system will boost efficiency.
The all-new CX-30 will seat five passengers in a surprisingly spacious cabin. Standard tech will include a new 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a rotary controller used to access an intuitive connectivity system.
