As the 2018 starts, many of us are thinking of ways that we can improve ourselves and our lives. This includes most people promising to lose weight or save money. But, if you are tired of making the same resolutions and failing each year, it is time to try something new. Consider resolving to be a safer driver this year.
Driving is something most of us do every day; there are plenty of opportunities to work on it. Here are a few ideas.
- Put your phone away. Promise yourself that you will not ever pick up your phone while driving. Put it out of reach and pull over if you really need to talk or text.
- Have a seatbelt rule. Make it a rule that everyone riding in your car has to buckle up before you will start driving.
- Be a defensive driver. This means you need to pay attention to what other drivers around you are doing—look for drivers using their phones, for instance. Always expect the unexpected.
- Maintain your vehicle. Get caught up on your vehicle’s recommended maintenance. A properly working car is a safer car.
Do you think you could incorporate at least one of these goals into your daily driving? Want to start fresh this year with a newer, safer car? Come visit us at El Dorado Mazda.
